Accademia Gallery and Florence City Walking Tour. This small-group tour of the Cradle of Renascence will take you to discover the city's most fascinating places and squares. Passing through the historic alleys in the company of a professional guide, we will arrive at one of the most emblematic squares: PIAZZA DUOMO, where you will learn the secrets of this extraordinary Cathedral. You will be able to admire the unmistakable Brunelleschi's Dome, Giotto's Bell Tower and the beauty of the Baptistery with its gilded bronze doors.
Throughout the tour, your guide will point out the main monuments of the city: We will pass the House of Dante and walk through the medieval district of Florence with the famous "tower houses" listening to the stories of how the Florentine nobility used them to demonstrate their power and grandeur to their enemies.
We will visit Piazza della Repubblica with its elegant cafes and galleries before arriving at the heart of the city: Piazza della Signoria. Here you can admire the famous Loggia dei Lanzi which houses original masterpieces such as the bronze statue of Perseus by Cellini and the Rape of the Sabine Women by Giambologna. Next stop will be the ACADEMY GALLERY, home to one of the city's great icons: Michelangelo's sculpture "David".
You can also contemplate other of his works, unfinished sculptures: the Prisoners, Saint Matthew, the Palestrina Pietà and other masterpieces that show all the talent that one of the greatest geniuses of universal art, Michelangelo, possessed.
