Montalcino is a jewel of art and history nestled in the hills of the Val d'Orcia and is exactly here where the tour begins. In these lands one of the most famous wines in the world was born: Brunello di Montalcino. Here you will be enchanted by the picturesque cellar and its barrels.
You will be able to discover the wonderful landscape of southern Tuscany covered with grain fields and vineyards on your way to Pienza, a small village in southern Tuscany, in the famous Val d'Orcia. This charming village is widely known as the "ideal" city of the Renaissance. Here you will have free time to explore the charming alleys and taste the famous pecorino cheese. Then your trip will head to Montepulciano which is located on the ridge that divides the Val d'Orcia from the Val di Chiana. This beautiful Renaissance village, with its medieval layout, is set in a postcard-perfect landscape, which, whichever way you look at it, recalls the more classic and widespread idea of the Tuscan countryside. Montepulciano is the town where the second part of the Twilight saga: "New Moon" was shoot as well as the Medici TV series.
The Montepulciano area, with its excellent vineyards, is considered one of the best wine regions in the world. You will then visit the cellars where the wine is stored under the old cellar walls and tast the famous noble wine from Montepulciano. The perfect place to end our tour and return to Florence with the memories of a splendid day.
